AMR-CNI | AMR-HOME

AMR – CNI … The Path to Real-time Metering

AMR-CNI (Automated Meter Reading System for Commercial and Industrial Consumers) uses well-proven GSM communication technology for meters data exchange.

As has been depicted in Figure 1, Meter data is exchanged via GSM network. Meter Data collection software collects the relevant data by connecting either to GSM Gateway or SMSC using VPN secure link. Later the same data is available for AMR-CNI software for utility, Energy Information software for CNI consumers or for data import into utility ERP. The details of the components of the system are as follows:

AMR-Enabled Meters

AMR-Enabled Meters comprises of standard IEC/ANSI compliant metering device, meter interface unit / communication hardware and GSM connection. It has the capability of logging both billing and interval meter readings. Some of the features are:


	Ability to send pre-scheduled meter readings or query on-
	demand from remote server
	Capability of billing readings transfer with programmable
	frequency on server using SMS
	Capability of interval data transfer with programmable
	frequency on server using SMS
	Load profile data transfer using CSD/GPRS
	Meter date and time synchronization with remote server
	Ability to control power connected with meter if equipped
	with load control module.

Meter Data Collection Software

AMR-enabled meters comes equipped with meter data collection software that collects / exchanges all the information required for reliable and proper functioning of AMR-CNI software.

AMR-CNI Software for Utility

AMR-CNI is unique software that functions in sync with meter data collection software and AMR-enabled meters to help utilities monitor and gauge the overall components of the system. Some of the functionalities are:


	To setup AMR-enabled meters
	Add new energy tariffs
	To setup new consumers and associate
	consumers with meters and tariff
	To schedule meter readings and analyze AMR-
	CNI system performance

Energy Information Software (EIS) for CNI Consumers

EIS is web-based software that allows end-users of AMR-enabled meters viz. CNI consumers to monitor and compare their daily energy consumption.Some of the features are:


	Energy consumption monitoring
	Shadow Billing
	Energy Outage Analysis
	Energy benchmarks Analysis
